From the time you get up in the morning until you go to bed at night, your hands are always in motion, helping you with activities like cooking breakfast, wrangling children, working, cleaning, and preparing dinner. Since they are used so much, hands frequently experience pain. Fortunately, qualified chiropractic care can reduce or eliminate this pain.
Can You Really See A Chiropractor For Your Hands?
Chiropractors are most commonly associated with back or neck pain. Here at Alaska Back Care, however, we provide complete care for our patients, including caring for their hands. We use spinal adjustments to promote better health. When the spine is working properly, pain is less likely to occur anywhere else in the body. Spinal adjustments are not only extremely effective but they are also gentle. They help the entire spinal column function better, which can result in less pain in other parts of the body.
Patients who receive this type of care usually report a greater sense of well-being and relief from pain. Along with seeing a chiropractor, you can take steps at home to reduce pain in your hands. These exercises and stretches are particularly effective for people who regularly use keyboards.
A Stretch For The Wrists And Hands
Bend your elbow, holding your hand at chest height. With your other hand, grip the side of the hand that the thumb is on and gently bend the wrist downward. Perform the same stretch on your other hand, as well.
Finger And Hand Stretch
Use the same starting position as the previous stretch, with your elbow bent and your hand at chest height. Using your other hand, grab your fingers and pull gently backward. Repeat the stretch on the other side.
Your hands not only help you accomplish important tasks but they also allow you to take part in activities you enjoy. Avoid allowing hand pain to keep you from performing tasks around your home or from participating in hobbies that you love. Contact a hiropractic in your area if you need your hands checked.
